交通运输部原副部长、国际海事组织海事亲善大使

　　1952年1月出生，江苏太仓人，远洋船长，高级工程师，国务院政府特殊津贴专家，国际海事组织海事亲善大使。曾任交通运输部党组成员、副部长兼中国海上搜救中心主任，中国航海学会理事长，中国航海博物馆馆长。

　　徐祖远先生长期从事船舶和航运企业管理工作，担任交通运输部副部长和中国海上搜救中心主任期间，致力推进我国海运业改革和发展，促进国际航运中心建设，强化海事、救助打捞、船检管理，积极参与国际海事事务，争取国际话语权，完善我国海上搜救指挥协调机制，为我国水运业的建设和发展做出了贡献。
